The Sánchez-Casal obtains the Biosphere distinction for its sustainable management and promotion of responsible tourism

International certification by the Responsible Tourism Institute (ITR), recognizes the commitment of the Sánchez-Casal Academy, for respect for the environment, sustainability and local economic development at the Barcelona headquarters, located in El Prat de Llobregat , an area of high ecological value.

Following all the safety and hygiene protocols, Gemma Rodriguez, Head of Baix Llobregat Tourism  and Debora García, Councillor El Prat de Llobregat Tourism Councillor; delivered the  Biosphere distinction to Marisa Sánchez Vicario, General Manager ASC Barcelona headquarters and to Sergi Bonillo, Head of Operations ASC Barcelona.

The Sánchez-Casal Academy is committed to the environment, and sensitizes both employees and student-athletes to climate change at the Barcelona and Florida headquarters with various actions throughout the year.

The student-athletes of the Academia Sánchez-Casal and ES Internacional School do not use plastic, they use their own water bottles, they also recycle and last year they joined the #fridaysforfuture movement to raise awareness about climate change.

The Biosphere is a distinction of the Responsible Tourism System of the Institute of Responsible Tourism (ITR), a certification of sustainable, voluntary and independent tourism, which works to apply to the tourism sector the 17 goals of sustainable development of the United Nations, the World Charter of Sustainable Tourism and the guidelines of the Paris Climate Summit.
