The Emilio Sánchez Academy & American School is committed to combating drought by implementing a series of measures, both to save water and to raise awareness among its students and users of its facilities, as part of its commitment to being environmentally responsible.

The ES Academy, which recently renewed its Biosphere certification, has one of its strategic pillars anchored in sustainability and the environment. Due to the situation in Catalonia, and in the midst of a state of emergency, the academy is sending clear messages and raising awareness, highlighting the joint effort to save water.

Its main campus located in El Prat de Llobregat (Barcelona) has taken several measures to reduce water consumption in its facilities, such as lowering the water pressure in changing rooms and showers, using water pressure reducers and timed pressure buttons and changing taps to a system that avoids misuse. Also we have cut irrigation of green areas and irrigation of courts by using recycled water from the treatment plant, as detailed by the school. And all of this under a slogan: "Drinking water gives us life, being aware will give us water".

In fact, El Prat de Llobregat has been one of the most active localities in the last year in raising awareness of good practices to rationalize water use. In 2023, at city level, water savings during the year amounted to 108,498 m3.

The Emilio Sánchez Academy celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, having established itself as a centre of international reference, where sport and education go hand in hand, and in which more than ten thousand students of more than one hundred nationalities have been trained over the years.
